The Arty LaVigne Band’s new album The Getaway is out now and available online where you listen to music!
The Arty LaVigne Band is a quartet of Burlington-area music scene veterans who come together to give life to the songs written and sung by Arty LaVigne. Drummer Andrew Bedard, bassist Jeff Barrows and guitarist Mark Christensen join Arty to deliver captivating tunes that draw on influences from the music of Laurel Canyon, Northern California’s Bay Area and beyond.
Arty is a beloved figure in the Vermont music landscape. As a founding member of Vermont blues/rock band The John Tower Group he has shared the stage with a large number of rock luminaries throughout the Burlington area. Arty has also served as the frontman and principal songwriter for the bands Radio Underground (with Mark) and Bardela (with Jeff and Mark).
Mark has been a long-time collaborator with Arty going back almost 30 years (having met when Mark was hired as the bass player for the John Tower Group) and has been a constant presence on Arty’s projects since those days. Mark also performs as a solo artist and has toured and recorded with indie rockers Ghost Ghost, Stone Document and with Robert Fripp & the Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists.
Jeff has worked with Burlington bands Fade to Black and Full Circle as well working with Arty and Mark as part of Bardela.
Andrew has drummed for innumerable Burlington area projects (including Radio Underground with Arty and Mark). He is currently regularly working as the drummer for Bella and the Noteables as well as The Rough Suspects. He is currently the only band member to have been struck by lightning.
