Mark Christensen is a genre-fluid multiinstrumentalist whose interests span the space between Americanna, Post-Prog, Indie Rock and the Avant Garde. His primary instruments are The Chapman Stick (a multi-stringed instrument with the pitch range of a guitar and bass combined, that is played by tapping the strings] and sonically altered guitars of all sorts.
He is currently hiding in a remote studio somewhere in Vermont, juggling multiple projects in various stages of completeness. He does occasionally get out to play live as the lead guitarist for the Arty LaVigne Band. Past projects include recording and gigging with indie-rock band Ghost Ghost, post-prog improvisers Stone Document and Vermont’s own Radio Underground. Other collaborators he has shared a stage with include Cyrus Chestnutt, Caroline Shaw and Elliott Sharp. He is also a former member of Robert Fripp’s Orchestra of Crafty Guitarists.
